Steve Austin, CPA
Steve Austin, CPA is Managing Partner for Swenson Advisors, LLP, a regional accounting firm (registered with the PCAOB), specializing in audit, SEC, Sarbanes-Oxley and consulting engagements with a focus on technology, manufacturing, service, software, real estate and non-profit organizations.
Prior to joining Swenson Advisors, LLP, Steve accumulated over 22 years of experience as an audit partner with Price Waterhouse LLP and with McGladrey & Pullen, LLP, serving both public and private companies.
Steve is licensed as a CPA in California and Georgia. He serves on the global board of directors of Integra International, an international association of accounting firms. Stephen also serves as the Audit Committee Chairman of several entities including private, public and not-for profit organizations and participates on over 12 boards and related board committees. In 2004, he published a book on business ethics entitled, “Rise of the New Ethics Class,” and in 2005 and 2006 he published articles in Asia discussing the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002.
Steve is a frequent speaker in the United States and internationally on accounting, ethics and corporate governance issues. In 2012, he authored an article addressing audit committees and the COSO framework published in the Journal of Accountancy. Steve holds a B.S. degree in accounting from Bob Jones University and an M.B.A. degree from the University of Georgia.
